Canadian pop-rock singer Avril Lavigne has announced a tour featuring support acts All Time Low and Simple Plan. Lavigne’s “Greatest Hits” North American tour spans 27 dates, with stops throughout Canada and the US, starting in Vancouver, BC in May and ending in Edmonton, AB in September. Presale tickets are available from January 24, with general sales opening on January 26. Lavigne said she will perform her “biggest songs to-date” on the tour. Lavigne will also appear in Cardiff, Wales and Manchester, UK in July.
“I’m so excited to finally announce my North American tour,” Lavigne said. “We’ve been working on this for months and months and finally got all the pieces to the puzzle to make it happen.” The singer noted special affection for Simple Plan and All Time Low, who will join her on different legs of the tour. “They toured with me on my very first tour, so its only fitting we are doing it again! My boys All Time Low — we’ve been friends for a while now and have talked about trying to tour together for years, so glad we finally get to do it for real!”
Lavigne rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits including “Complicated” and “Girlfriend.” She has released six studio albums, won six Juno Awards, three MTV Europe Music Awards and one World Music Award. Lavigne has also worked as an actor and voice actor, and is involved in philanthropy, particularly for causes such as Lyme disease awareness and aiding children with disabilities.
