Manchester rock legends Liam Gallagher and John Squire are set to release their second collaboration, titled ‘Mars To Liverpool’, this Friday (January 26). The announcement was made by Squire on Twitter, who shared a snippet of the upcoming single along with the artwork. This comes just weeks after the release of their debut track ‘Just Another Rainbow’, as part of their collaborative project. Gallagher has previously praised their upcoming album, which is set to contain 10 songs, calling it the best record since The Beatles’ ‘Revolver’.
The former Oasis frontman and the ex-Stone Roses guitarist have been working on the project in Squire’s studio, with Gallagher recently singing the tracks for the first time while in Los Angeles. The album doesn’t have a title yet, and will be released simply under the names of the artists involved. Former Oasis guitarist Bonehead, who performs alongside Gallagher in his solo band, recently confirmed that he has heard the album, stating that it is “very good”. The duo have also hinted that a second album could be in the works.
In addition to their collaborative work, Liam Gallagher will also be performing Oasis’ debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full during his headline performance at Reading & Leeds 2024 in August. The performance will be part of a UK and Ireland tour celebrating the album’s 30th anniversary. Fans can purchase tickets for the tour through Ticketmaster. However, for now, eagerly awaiting fans will just have to make do with the upcoming release of ‘Mars To Liverpool’
