Over the past few days, powerful winds from Storm Isha have wreaked havoc across parts of the United Kingdom. Videos posted on social media show the extent of the damage caused by the storm, including roofs collapsing, furniture flying, and near misses. Tens of thousands of homes were left without power, whilst train services were disrupted and dozens of flights cancelled or diverted.
The winds brought by Storm Isha reached speeds of up to 99mph (159km/h) in some areas, with the strongest winds seen in parts of Northern Ireland, northern England, and Scotland for up to two decades. The Isle of Man was also affected by the storm, which led to widespread travel chaos and affected infrastructure across the region.
Despite the disruptions caused by Storm Isha, emergency services and local authorities have worked hard to ensure the safety of residents and travellers. The storm has now passed over the UK, but many residents are still dealing with the aftermath, including the clearing up of debris and repairing any damage caused to their homes or businesses.
