Sleep Token has recently announced that they will be embarking on a North American tour with special guests, Empire State Bastard. The tour, titled ‘The Teeth of God’, begins with the band’s performance at Las Vegas’ Sick New World festival on April 27th, followed by several dates in cities across the United States and ending with two dates at Toronto’s Massey Hall on May 27th and 28th.
Empire State Bastard, a supergroup consisting of members from Biffy Clyro, Oceansize, and Slayer, will serve as the support act for all shows except for their Sick New World festival appearance. Fans looking to purchase tickets can register on the tour’s official website, and an exclusive pre-sale opens on Wednesday, January 24th, at 10AM local time.
The announcement of the tour comes shortly after Sleep Token wiped their Instagram page clean of all posts, leaving only a bio that reads, “Nothing lasts forever.” Concerns of disbandment were then raised after an apparent leak of band member III’s identity online. However, the latest tour announcement has dispelled such apprehensions.
Sleep Token, who sold out at London’s OVO Arena Wembley in December, donned new masks during the concert in light of what they called “a new era.” They are also set to support Bring Me The Horizon on their upcoming Australian tour in April.
Empire State Bastard, on the other hand, recently released a new single called ‘Tired, Naw?’, which they described as the “fully suited, original version” of ‘Tired, Aye?’, a track from their debut album, ‘Rivers of Heresy’. The album received a four-star review from NME, with Andrew Trendell highlighting its diverse mix of metal genres and writing, “It captures the ambition and extremities that make this record such a romp.”
Overall, Sleep Token’s North American tour with Empire State Bastard promises to be an exciting event for metal fans across the country
