UK DJ, producer, and label owner SHERELLE has announced an upcoming tour across the UK and EU called SHERELLELAND. All the tour’s stops will be held at independent venues, with budget-friendly tickets priced around £10. SHERELLELAND is set to launch in February at London’s The Carpet Shop before moving on to Leeds, Amsterdam, and Paris, among several other destinations. The tour’s last stop will be at Le Hasard Ludique towards the end of February.
SHERELLE will play a blend of jungle, drum ‘n’ bass, and footwork at SHERELLELAND. The tour aims to cater to “bocats on a budget” as SHERELLE acknowledges that “everything has gotten super expensive” lately. SHERELLELAND came to fruition when the artist was traveling overseas in 2021. While she was meant to focus on her DJ skills, she instead observed how rising costs and COVID-19 have made it harder for people to go out. As a community, says the artist, we need to band together.
SHERELLE has designed SHERELLELAND to kick off 2022 in a fun, positive, and beautiful way. She aims to provide an experience that will stay with her audience long after they have left the event. When she’s not on tour, SHERELLE is on BBC 6 Music every Saturday from 11 pm till 1 am. Additionally, she is the co-founder of the label Hooversound and the founder of BEAUTIFUL, a platform for the Black and LGBTQI+ communities.
The SHERELLELAND tickets are now available for purchase on the artist’s website. The list of tour destinations is available there, and the tour will conclude towards the end of February in Paris at Le Hasard Ludique. Becky Buckle is Mixmag’s Multimedia Editor. You can follow her on Twitter
