Jayda G is set to appear in the upcoming environmental documentary called Blue Carbon that will be broadcasted later this year on CNN Films. Jayda Guy, also a GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producer, has a master’s degree in environmental toxicology and 10 years of experience in field biology which has led to the unique documentary. The documentary combines music and science to understand how listening to nature and each other is crucial to averting climate catastrophe.
The documentary, Blue Carbon, features Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, Brazilian artist Seu Jorge, and Jayda G’s new single “Still Be With You” as part of its soundtrack. The film focuses on the stories of coastal communities impacted by climate change, shot in the USA, Senegal, Vietnam, France, Colombia, and Brazil. It also explains the relatively new potential ability of oceans to absorb much more carbon from the atmosphere than even tropical rainforests.
Jayda G acknowledged in her statement that very few people know much about Blue Carbon, which is so vital to solve climate change. In her hopes to make it as famous as the Amazon rainforest, she hopes that the stories of people working to protect Blue Carbon will encourage viewers to hope about our future and form a connection with mother nature.
The director of the documentary, Nicolas Brown, believes the film will bring new hope to new audiences. He said that it is time to listen to what these communities and ecosystems say about the climate and biodiversity crisis.
