Gene Simmons announces first post-KISS concert

Gene Simmons of KISS fame has revealed plans for his first solo concert since the band’s retirement in December 2023. It will take place at the Brazilian rock festival Summer Breeze on April 26, 2024. Simmons will be joined by other notable musicians such as Corey Taylor guitarist Zach Throne and Brent Woods, who is known for his work with Sebastian Bach.
Those in attendance can expect to hear a mix of KISS classics along with tunes from Simmons’ solo work. He previously toured as a solo act in 2018 with a different backing band and performed gigs in North America, Europe, and Australia.
Following KISS’s final show ever at Madison Square Garden in December 2023, the band announced that they will continue their work as virtual avatars, developed by George Lucas’ VFX company, Industrial Light and Magic, and Pophouse Entertainment Group, co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus.
Investments of about $200 million were made to refine the technology used to create these virtual performances.
Meanwhile, ABBA has also introduced a virtual entertainment experience in a new show called ABBA Voyage
