English Teacher share single ‘Albert Road’ and announce debut album ‘This Could Be Texas’ along with UK tour

Leeds-based band English Teacher have unveiled the release details of their debut album, which will be titled ‘This Could Be Texas.’ The album will be released on the 12th of April through Island Records. The group has also released a new single titled ‘Albert Road,’ which is the fourth release from the band following ‘Mastermind Specialism,’ ‘Nearly Daffodils,’ and ‘The World’s Biggest Paving Slab.’

It’s about inbetweens, it’s about home, and it’s about Desire Paths.” Along with the album release, the band will embark on a UK tour in May 2024, and have already lined up shows across the UK and Europe in January and February 2024.

The tour dates begin on the 28th of January in York at The Crescent and conclude on the 29th of May in London at Electric Brixton. It appears that the band is eager to get back on stage to perform their new album to fans after being unable to perform live during the pandemic.

English Teacher’s sound is notable for its guitar melodies over modern pop beats, with Fontaine’s angelic vocals leading the way. It’s interesting to see what their debut album will involve and if it will continue the theme of short and sweet guitar-pop tracks
