An exciting announcement about The West Wing is expected to be made next week. Mary McCormack, who played Deputy National Security Adviser Kate Harper on the hit political drama show, revealed on her Instagram account that “something very special in the works” will be revealed on 24 January. McCormack also tagged several of her fellow West Wing cast members in her post teasing the announcement.
Last year, Rob Lowe, who played the deputy White House Communications Director on the show, opened up about his departure in the middle of the fourth season due in part to a salary dispute and a disagreement over the amount of attention given to his character. Although he returned to The West Wing towards the end of its tenure and for the 2020 TV special A West Wing Special To Benefit When We All Vote.
The West Wing has been a popular and well-loved show since its debut in 1999 and followed the inner workings of a Democratic-run White House. Alongside Martin Sheen, who played the president Jed Barlett, the series starred a talented cast that included Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Richard Schiff, John Spencer, Janel Moloney, and Dulé Hill.
