Ed Harcourt shares haunting new single ‘Deathless’

Musician Ed Harcourt has unveiled his latest track ‘Deathless’ from his upcoming album, ‘El Magnifico’. This single follows the previously released track, ‘Strange Beauty’. The song features a haunting beat and Harcourt’s distinctive voice delivers the lyrics: “I’ve been dying to live for something / It’s better than dying for nothing / I want to be deathless / want to be deathless”.
Accompanied by a black and white video, directed by Steve Gullick, Harcourt is seen singing the song in the desert. Talking about the track, Harcourt said: “Written in a mad fever dream one night, this is a darker and heavier track from the record; basically it’s my attempt to write ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ but if it was trying to punch it’s way out of a metal box.”
The UK singer-songwriter’s 16th album is set to release on March 29, 2024. The album, which is available for pre-order or pre-save, is being released through Harcourt’s own Deathless Recordings. Harcourt comments on his album’s fresh direction stating: “It’s knowing what your strengths are, what your weaknesses are, but also knowing how to better yourself by doing things you haven’t done before.”
Harcourt’s last album was 2020’s Monochrome To Colour. The artist has also announced his in-store shows to celebrate the release of his new album. These shows have six stops in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Leeds, Brighton, Oxford and Kingston upon Thames
