Korean sensation IU is celebrating her return to the music world with the announcement of a new single ‘Love Wins’. The singer teased the release on social media, sharing a red-tinted video that zooms in on her face as a tear falls from her eye, before the title of the song appears on her pupil. IU’s upcoming single will release on January 24 at 6 pm KST.
The singer also launched her official TikTok account to mark her return to the music scene. In another post, IU confirmed that BTS member V will be starring in the music video for ‘Love Wins’. The video is being directed by ‘Concrete Utopia’ director Um Tae-hwa.
IU has been working on her new album due to release in early 2024 and her agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed she had filmed a music video featuring BTS’ V, which fans have been excited about. IU’s ‘Pieces’, a mini-album was released in 2021 and was made up of several unreleased tracks that she had written and composed herself. She also dropped her fifth full-length studio album, ‘Lilac’, in the same year.
In the past few years, IU has participated in several collaborations including BTS member Suga’s ‘People Pt. 2’. The song was the pre-release single to his solo studio album ‘D-Day’ that arrived in April 2023.
