Former football player Cody Fisher was murdered in a nightclub by a group of men seeking “planned act of retribution” after a minor altercation in a late night bar on Christmas Eve, a court has heard. Fisher, 23, was killed at the Crane club in Birmingham on Boxing Day 2022, days after the altercation, which occurred at Popworld in Solihull. It reportedly involved Fisher and defendant Remy Gordon coming into contact in the busy bar, leading to an angry confrontation.
Over the two days following the incident, it is alleged that Gordon continued to harbour resentment and even used social media to find out more about Fisher. He later located an image of Fisher and circulated it to his friends, planning “retribution” against the former Southern League Premier Division Central player. During the night of the attack on Fisher, the group then pursued the victim’s friend and violently attacked him, according to prosecutor Michael Duck.
