Liam Gallagher and John Squire might be creating a second album together, according to a recent interview with Squire. The first album, which Gallagher previously praised as “the best record since [The Beatles’] ‘Revolver’,” made its debut this month with the song ‘Just Another Rainbow’. Although the song was in the running for Number One, it lost out to Noah Kahan and his song ‘Stick Season’. The pair have previously given an update on the 10-track LP in conversation with Zane Lowe for Apple Music and now have discussed further musical plans with The Guardian.
Squire said, “The guitar fights back.” Gallagher then added that if Squire comes up with another set of songs that are great, they will produce another album. Gallagher also complimented Squire, saying he is a good songwriter. Meanwhile, the psychedelic song ‘Just Another Rainbow’ now has an official video and a remix from Looking Glass Alice.
Elsewhere in the interview, Gallagher suggested that no one wants to be in a band anymore and that the music industry is full of “‘me me me’ solo stars”. However, he also said that he intends to keep Oasis’ catalogue alive, having confirmed a 30th anniversary ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour in the UK and Ireland for this summer.
It’s not yet confirmed whether Gallagher and Squire will work together on a new album, but fans can expect more music and updates from the pair in the future
