Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram set to go head-to-head in charity DJ battle

Two British Mayors are set to participate in their third annual charity DJ battle to raise funds for homeless charity organization, A Bed Every Night. Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, and Steve Rotheram, Mayor of Liverpool City Region, will perform a set at Liverpool’s event space, bar, and music venue, Camp and Furnace, on February 2, 2022. The mayors will be joined by some of the most prominent personalities in the north, including singer Rebecca Ferguson and Corrie star Sally Lindsay.

This is the third edition of the charity event organized by the two mayors. The initiative aims to raise funds for various charities and projects seeking to better the lives of the homeless around the UK. The first edition of the event was held in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK. It was streamed live, and all the proceeds raised went towards organizations affected by the pandemic lockdown, with a particular focus on the nightlife industry.

The second edition was held in Manchester at The Warehouse Project in 2022, and it was witnessed by a live audience. Burnham won the second DJ battle, and the event raised over £20,000 for the chosen charity, A Bed Every Night. Following the success of the initiative, it won the “Leading Live Event of the Year” award at the This is Manchester Awards.

This year’s event aims to surpass the achievements of the previous editions. The proceeds from the charity event will go towards various projects and charities delivering much-needed help to the homeless. For those interested in attending the charity event, tickets can be obtained from the Greater Manchester Mayor’s website
