The Texas-based trio made their entry into the music industry with their debut album, A Calf Born In Winter, in 2015 and their music is inspired by various regions from across the world, including Thai funk, evident in the band’s name that translates to “airplane” in Thai. The band has been drawing in fans and music critics alike over the last ten years, working tirelessly on their music as they tour with some of the most well-known artists in the industry. As 2023 comes to an end, Khruangbin has recently released some of the most amazing live LPs of the year.
Khruangbin’s live album series represents a small fraction of the band’s global journey through the years, featuring some of their most iconic cities, stages, and nights. Each album cover is bespoke to the venue where the recording was made, imprinted with original designs limited to that specific region, making it a unique collector’s item for fans who contribute to the band’s journey. In a series of five releases, the collection highlights the two sides of Khruangbin’s music styles, whichever it is, prismatic albums or their enchanting performances.
Their most exceptional and final album in this collection is Live at the Sydney Opera House, presenting double LP Khruangbin performances. Recorded live at one of the world’s most iconic venues, Sydney Opera House, the album consists of timeless tracks from their early 2015 debut like ‘A Calf Born in Winter’ to more recent pieces like ‘Maria También,’ ‘So We Won’t Forget,’ ‘Friday Morning,’ and ‘Shida.’
