Four Tet, the stage name of Keiran Hebden, has unveiled the first track on his forthcoming album. The cut, called “Loved,” came out on 10 January via his own label, Text Records. After teasing the track on Instagram, Hebden wrote on Twitter that he’d honed his artwork for the album and would produce vinyl and CDs soon. The album, yet to be released, would be Hebden’s first full-length album in three years, following the surprise release of Parallel, his 10-track 2020 album.
Hebden also commented that the song “Loved” is from the new album and the first track on the upcoming LP. Four Tet emerged in 1998 and, since then, fans have adored his rich and complex productions. His last album was Atmospheric Accident, an hour-long record lasting seven tracks released in March 2020. Four Tet’s impressive list of accolades includes several awards such as NME’s Best Album of 2010 and Annie Mac’s Album of the Year in 2015, among others.
Four Tet has enjoyed an iconic career and is set to continue his success with a new album from a distinctive, synth-led, and downtempo sound. Hebden has created an impressive back catalogue of immersive soundscapes and looped beats. With this new release, he will dive into his trademark sound, which made him one of the most high-profile electronic artists. While there is no release date for the album yet, “TEXT055 soon” is the known number for the new album.
Interestingly, Hebden is also known for various side projects, with names like KH or under the undecipherable pseudonym of ⣎⡇ꉺლ༽இ•̛)ྀ◞ ༎ຶ ༽ৣৢ؞ৢ؞ؖ ꉺლ.
