Police in London investigating the stabbing and subsequent death of Harry Pitman on New Year’s Eve have issued an appeal for photographs or videos taken in the park where the attack took place. Harry, who was just 16 years old, was fatally stabbed in Primrose Hill, North London at 11:40 pm. He was from the Haringey area of London. A 16 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held in police custody.
Superintendent Danny Hewitt said: “We need to hear from anybody who saw anything that may be significant … Although there has been an arrest we do need information from the community.” Hewitt added that officers were working quickly to establish what happened and that Harry’s family were being supported by a team.
Harry’s older sister Tayla, who is 19, paid tribute to him saying: “he always stood up for what was right.” She told the Mail Online: “I’m devastated, he was my baby brother. I keep on expecting him to come through the front door. His dinner is still in the oven, Mum can’t bring herself to remove it.”
Supt Hewitt said that a large group of people had gathered in the park to celebrate the New Year and watch the fireworks when Harry was killed. Therefore, the force has appealed for anyone with footage of the event or any surrounding area to share it with them.
BBC Radio London encouraged listeners to follow events on their social media accounts and also to send any story ideas via email. Meanwhile, as of January 4, 2022, the police continue to investigate the crime and pursue potential leads, despite the arrest of the 16-year-old suspect
