Alice Wood, a 23-year-old woman, has been convicted of murder for dragging her fiance under her car after a disagreement at a party. Ryan Watson, 24, was hit by Wood’s Ford Fiesta before being dragged 158 meters underneath it, resulting in his death near their home in Rode Heath, Cheshire. Wood was found guilty by the jury after a trial at Chester Crown Court. She had previously denied murder and manslaughter.
Wood had accused Mr. Watson of flirting with another woman at the party, which led to tension between the couple. They argued about who was driving home, and Wood decided to drive them home to Oak Street in Rode Heath. As Watson walked around the car, Wood reversed towards him, narrowly missing him. Seconds later, Wood drove at Watson again, knocking him onto the car’s bonnet. Unfortunately, he walked away from this collision, only for Wood to drive at him a third time, causing him to be dragged under the car.
