A. G. Cook has begun the year with a new single titled ‘Silver Golden Needle’. The founder of PC Music has released the 10-minute track, which builds on his discography of abstract hyperpop. The release comes with a visualiser directed by Lena Weber and Aaron Chan. Cook’s new single is his first since the closure of PC Music, which was announced last year. Following this announcement, the label stated they would be dedicated to special reissues and archival projects with a few undisclosed new albums and singles on the way.
PC Music and their founder Cook frequently collaborated with several artists such as Kero Kero Bonito, the late Sophie Xeon, and Carly Rae Jepsen. Cook has also worked on projects with the likes of Caroline Polachek and 100 gecs. Additionally, he has creatively directed projects with Charli XCX.
The ‘Silver Golden Needle’ was released via the little-known imprint “N. A.”. Cook announced the closure of PC Music last year, and 2023 would be its last year of new releases. The archival projects and special reissues will follow, and the label has undisclosed numbers of new albums and singles planned for the future.
