Time Warp, the annual music festival held in Mannheim, Germany, has revealed its 2022 lineup to mark its 30th anniversary. Taking place on the 5th and 6th of April, the festival will feature a number of renowned DJs, including Joseph Capriati, Laurent Garnier, and Richie Hawtin. In addition, there will be exclusive performances from b2b sets, including VTSS b2b Anetha, and Dax J b2b SPFDJ.
Since it first launched in 1994, the festival has been dedicated to promoting underground techno music in Germany, said to be in direct response to concerns that techno’s underground status was being threatened at the time. According to the festival’s founder, Steffan Charles, this was an opportunity to reconnect with the roots of techno as a musical genre.
This year’s event looks to celebrate the success Time Warp has achieved over the years, with the festival having grown into a collection of six or seven individually designed clubs. Despite some setbacks, the number of attendees has continued to grow, with the festival having sold out every year since 2008.
