Tragedy struck in Cramlington, Northumberland as two teenagers lost their lives in a car accident. The incident involved three vehicles on the A192 Hartford Bank. Police have identified the deceased as 18-year-old Connor Lapworth and 15-year-old Corey Mavin, both from Blyth. Lapworth died on the spot, while Mavin passed away in the hospital on Saturday.

The two victims were in a Suzuki Vitara with two other males, aged 41 and 17, who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital for serious injuries. The other vehicles involved in the accident were a Range Rover Evoque and a Ford Focus, causing the 36-year-old female driver of the former serious injuries while the latter’s 52-year-old female driver escaped unhurt.

The police have asked witnesses who have any information about the crash or those who have seen the three vehicles around the time of the incident to contact them immediately. The officers also requested that people with dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision should come forward. Several ambulances, including other responders, were dispatched to the crash site, as per North East Ambulance Service spokesperson.

Northumbria Police’s motor patrols department’s Sgt Russell Surrey said, “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are firmly with the family and loved ones of the two young people who have sadly lost their lives and those who have suffered injuries in this collision. We will offer them all of the support they need and ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”

The incident happened on Friday at around 9:30 pm GMT, and the police are urging witnesses to come forward with any information that could help their ongoing investigation
