A 39-year-old woman from Barnsley is due to appear in court charged with the murder of her five-month-old daughter, Evelyn. The charge follows the baby being found in a serious condition at Woodhouse Moor park in Leeds on Wednesday evening, taken to hospital, but later pronounced dead. The woman will appear before magistrates in Leeds on Saturday 23 December. West Yorkshire police have not revealed any further details.
The entrance to Woodhouse Moor Park was taped off near the junction of Clarendon Road and Moorland Road for several hours following the incident. The charge relating to the baby’s death follows an investigation by West Yorkshire police.
