The internet has been taken by storm by a baker named Bridie West, after she created a cake that replicates the famous Rosehill Cottage from the Christmas movie ‘The Holiday’. The cake, which took one and a half days to bake and decorate, was initially intended for social media, however, due to its likeness to the cottage featured in the movie, it was purchased as a decoration instead.
Ms West, who resides in Brentwood, Essex, stated that the process of baking and decorating the cake was satisfying, and that she could never tire of creating amazing designs with cakes. Her TikTok video of the creation of the cottage from ‘The Holiday’, has gone viral, achieving more than 135,000 likes and over 8,000 saves.
Ms West stated that “There’s so much you can do with cake, there’s literally no limits.” The fact that someone has purchased her creation as a decoration instead of cutting into it, shows how impressed customers are with her confectionary skills.
The popularity of Bridie West’s creation proves that ‘The Holiday’ movie remains to be a much-loved movie, and that cakes can be just as fascinating as building replicas of our favorite movies houses.
