The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office is reviewing a claim that Diplo shared bare photos of a woman without her consent. Pitchfork has reported that the DJ is accused of committing revenge pornography twice, with Shelly Auguste filing an initial case against him in 2020.
Auguste, a lady from California, informed the Los Angeles Police Department of the allegation against Diplo in August of this year and claims that the Los Angeles prosecutors have reviewed it thoroughly and validated it. Auguste has also claimed to have a restraining order against Diplo, whose true name is Thomas Wesley Pentz.
Auguste is in the midst of a long-standing legal battle against Pentz, according to Pitchfork. She is already suing the musician for gender-based violence, sexual battery, and fraud.
Pentz is now suing Auguste for trespassing, stalking, and the dissemination of private materials, as well as accusing her of being “dangerously unstable,” according to the lawsuit he launched in 2021. Pentz has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, alleging that his allegations are part of a smear campaign against him.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office is presently reviewing Auguste’s report. The UK 24-hour free-to-call National Domestic Abuse Helpline may be reached at 0808 2000 247, while the US 24-hour National Domestic Violence Hotline may be reached at 1.800.799.SAFE (7233)
