A stabbing incident in South London has resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy, and a murder investigation has been launched. The incident occurred near Sutton railway station at around 7:10 pm GMT on Tuesday, where the victim was found by police officers with stab wounds. Despite treatment by the paramedics on the spot, the teenager died from his injuries.
Police officers have closed the railway station and several other nearby roads while carrying out investigations into the incident. While the police inquiries are ongoing, no arrests have been made so far. The spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that they were trying to locate the boy’s next of kin.
The death of the teenage boy has led to the closure of the railway station for the rest of Wednesday. The Thameslink and Southern rail companies have recommended that their customers use alternative routes and check travel information before setting out.
