The group behind London’s Big Dyke Energy has introduced the Save Queer Raves Grant, a long-term initiative aimed at providing financial aid and mentorship to queer, trans, non-binary and intersex event organisers throughout the UK. The organisation is looking to raise £15,000, offering support to 10 grassroots music organisers financially and through mentorship for six months from February 2024. Furthermore, if more funding is secured, the group will run another project in July 2024.

The queer music scene, while gaining popularity in recent years, needs ongoing support to thrive. The initiatives such as the Save Queer Raves Grant will offer crucial support to small-scale event organisers and ensure the independent and diverse queer music scene continues to grow in the UK
