Bruce, the DJ, producer and vocalist also known as Larry McCarthy, has announced the forthcoming release of his second album under Timedance label. The album will compile tracks from his two earlier EP releases this year and add four new songs to create his full-length album ‘Not Ready For Love’.
The artist’s journey in 2023 started with a transformation in his sound. Bruce had been known for his innovative UK techno productions on record labels such as Hemlock Recordings, Hessle Audio, Idle Hands, and Timedance. However, he shifted to the futuristic vocal pop genre, showcased in his ‘Not’ EP that was released earlier this year.
Bruce shared with Kindred that the inspiration to start working with his voice came from a karaoke bar in Japan, where he sang Bobby Caldwell’s ‘What You Won’t Do For Love’. After the performance, other renowned music artists such as Mount Kimbie, Visible Cloaks, and Alva Noto, all approached him and asked why he did not sing on his own tracks.
The forthcoming ‘Not Ready For Love’ album title hints at a fusion of ‘Not’ and ‘Ready’ EPs, featuring a full version of the outstanding song ‘Antler’ with Isabella Martin. The LP presents Bruce’s evolution to a fully-fledged future-pop star. The album is available for pre-order
