Four Tet donates vinyl of unreleased album to charity raffle

Renowned musician, Four Tet, donated a vinyl copy of his unreleased album made in 2021, ‘⣎⡇ꉺლ༽இ•̛)ྀ◞ ༎ຶ ༽ৣৢ؞ৢ؞ؖ ꉺლ’, for a charity raffle to support War Child. The record was made available at Resident Advisor’s pop-up record fair named ‘Dig Deep’ held at All My Friends in Hackney Wick, England, on November 25-26. The fair aimed to raise money for The Right To Dance, a fundraising platform launched by War Child to support children in conflict-affected areas through dance music collaborations.

Apart from Four Tet, popular artists such as Lex Amor, Joe Armon Jones, Luke Una, Midland, Shanti Celeste, Yazmin Lacey, Call Super, and several record labels including Defected, Ninja Tune, and !K7 contributed records to the charity raffle, along with a pair of Audio-Technica turntables and cartridges, a Xone mixer, and two tickets to Field Maneuvers 2024. Additionally, people could participate in other raffle options such as a set of Dig Deep slipmats with a tote bag and a mystery medley pack consisting of donated records, which also included Four Tet’s unreleased, self-titled record under his ⣎⡇ꉺლ༽இ•̛)ྀ◞ ༎ຶ ༽ৣৢ؞ৢ؞ؖ ꉺლ name.

Four Tet’s album is his first under the pseudonym and was made this year. The album has since become highly sought-after since it has not been released on any physical format or streaming platforms. This is not the first time Four Tet has contributed to charity; in 2017, he donated one thousand copies of his album ‘New Energy’ to Oxfam.

Earlier this year, Four Tet revealed that he is currently working on his next album named ‘TEXT055.’ This would be his twelfth studio album to date, adding to his impressive catalog. The musician tweeted in April that he intends to release new music before his shows start and that he also has collaborations with William Tyler in the works.

Through donations and contributions, charities like War Child can continue to support children living in regions affected by conflict across the globe. Donations can be made on War Child’s website for those interested in joining the cause
