Oscar, aged three, dialled 999 from the family home in Banstead, reporting that his “mummy is asleep”. Paramedics arrived on the scene and took Iona, Oscar’s mother, to hospital where she made a full recovery.
Iona said that she feels “very lucky that Oscar knew to ring 999 and get me help”, adding that this situation highlights the importance of ensuring children know what to do in an emergency.
