Skepta has teamed up with a newcomer producer named Ryder for a five-track EP named ’48 hours’. The EP was created in just two days and features Dré Six’s vocals. The opportunity for Ryder to produce the album came when he created an ambient remix ‘skeptacore pt.3’ using Skepta’s vocals from ‘Text me back’ and shared it on social media. Skepta then approached Ryder to create an entire EP for him and Dré Six.
One of the lead singles for the album, ‘All Alone’, features Skepta and Dré Six and will come with a Skepta-directed music video. Ryder focuses on the emotion that the music evokes in the listener and this is something that comes through in the EP.
Skepta is currently Mixmag’s cover star, he recently released a single named ‘Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute to Amy)’, and he has a tech-house track released on his label Más Tiempo, which he co-owns with Lord of the Mics founder and BBK member Jammer.
As part of Skepta and Jammer’s Mixmag cover series, the pair recently performed to an intimate crowd at The Lab LDN for the Cover Mix. The ’48 Hour’ tracklist is as follows: ‘All Alone’ – Ryder, Skepta, Dré Six; ‘For You’ – Ryder, Skepta, Dré Six; ‘Skeptacore pt. 1’ Ryder, Skepta; ‘Skeptacore pt. 2’ – Ryder, Skepta; and ‘Skeptacore pt. 3’ – Ryder, Skepta.
The EP can be heard on Spotify and is the latest addition to Skepta’s catalogue of music
