Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, and his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura have settled a lawsuit that was filed against Combs. The lawsuit stated that Combs allegedly engaged in rape, physical abuse, and sex trafficking against his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie. The duo has now resolved the issue amicably, but the details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Ventura accused Combs of physically abusing her on many occasions over their decade-long relationship. She claimed that she was trapped in a cycle of abuse and violence. Ventura stated that she was brought into Combs’s fast-paced and drug-fueled lifestyle after signing to his label in 2005.
Ventura also claimed that Combs forcefully entered her home towards the end of their relationship in 2018 and raped her. Combs denied the allegations against him and accused the singer of attempting to extort him. His attorney called the accusations offensive and outrageous.
The settlement has been announced by Douglas Wigdor, who represents Ventura. He praised the singer’s strength for going public with her lawsuit and commended her for doing so. Since the settlement, singer Kesha replaced a reference to P. Diddy in her song ‘Tik Tok’ while performing on stage, swapping his name out to sing: “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.” Resources are available to anyone affected by sexual harassment within the Electronic Music Industry
