Maxim, a member of The Prodigy, has shared that he burnt his artwork after the death of Keith Flint. The art pieces had been inspired by the “27 Club”, musicians who had passed away at the age of 27, often due to drug overdoses. The 27 Club includes artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison. Maxim experimented with using pills during the creation of the pieces. After Flint’s death, following a drug overdose in 2019, Maxim destroyed the artwork as it “didn’t feel like it was right” to keep it.

The Prodigy was formed by producer Liam Howlett, joined by Maxim, Flint, Leeroy Thornhill, and dancer Sharkey. The band sold 10 million copies of their studio album, The Fat of the Land in 1997 and headlined Glastonbury that same year. Flint was found dead at his home, with it heavily suspected that he had committed suicide.

Flint had been open about his struggles with drug addiction, stating that he lost track of how many pills he had taken. Maxim has also reflected on his own past, stating that he used to bring a hip flask with brandy onstage but now asks for green tea after his performances.

Maxim has recently launched a new solo exhibition at Clarendon Fine Art in Covent Garden. The exhibit includes over 20 original paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces
