HAAi has announced the release of a new single titled ‘Always Ascending’, which has been created in collaboration with Jon Hopkins and Kam-Bu. This single comes after the release of the tracks ‘SHiNE’ and ‘ZIGGY’, and will be the final release before her DJ-Kicks mix, set to release on November 13th. The single is not the first time HAAi has worked with Jon Hopkins or Kam-Bu, but it is the first time the trio has worked on a song together. Previously, HAAi worked with Hopkins on the title track of her recent album, ‘Baby We’re Ascending’, while Kam-Bu’s song ‘LIVE-O’ underwent a HAAi remix earlier this year.
Kam-Bu describes the lyrics of the new single as revolving around themes of love, trust, and surrender. He believes that personal growth can be achieved by accepting imperfections and speaking kindly to oneself in difficult times. The artist emphasizes the importance of knowing oneself and not conforming to society’s expectations. He explains that the action of seeking personal growth through difficult times is captured in the idea of ‘always ascending’.
HAAi and Kam-Bu’s lyrics have been termed as having “so much meaning and heart,” while Jon’s synth sounds have accentuated the track’s overall beauty. In the run-up to the release of her DJ-Kicks mix, HAAi arranged a party for her fans and friends at small-capacity venue 17 Little Portland Street, where she went back-to-back with I.Jordan and The Blessed Madonna to give a thrilling performance on a powerful sound system, with dubstep, Latin and donk sounds.
HAAi’s DJ-Kicks mix will release on November 13th and is available for pre-order at the !K7 online store. The artist believes that the new track delivers a message of resilience, personal growth, and a sense of self-worth, which is much required by everyone in today’s society
