Nowadays, a New York club, is expanding its operations by opening a new restaurant, The Zumbador. The Mexican-inspired restaurant is owned by Maria Bravo and Fernando Adan, both of whom work for Nowadays. They aim to serve food influenced by their home in southeast Mexico, mixing Spanish, indigenous, and Middle Eastern flavors alongside traditional Mexican cuisine. The wine list rotates monthly and is curated by Wildair and The Ten Bells staff member, Fernelly Sarria.
The menu reflects the cultural melting pot that is Puebla, featuring a variety of dishes including enfrijoladas, tres leches, and mole. Puebla cuisine is known for its use of spices, herbs, and a variety of ingredients, and the married couple behind The Zumbador aim to recreate traditional Pueblan family dishes in New York.
The restaurant is located in the Queens-based club in Ridgewood and is open Tuesday through Saturday until 10:30PM. The Zumbador’s opening follows a trend of club and bar venues adding restaurant components for a more diverse customer experience.
The full menu can be found on The Zumbador’s website, and those interested in keeping up with the club can visit Nowadays’ website
