West Yorkshire Police were called to a report of a stabbing near St Margaret’s Primary School in Horsforth. A 15-year-old boy sustained critical injuries in the incident. Police cordoned the area, and a teenage boy was arrested. Inquiries are ongoing.
According to the headteacher of nearby Horsforth School, the teenage victim is a former pupil who was stabbed on St Margaret’s Avenue. The headteacher extended sympathies to the victim’s family, stating that the school is aware of the upset that the incident has caused among students and staff who know the victim.
Upon the incident’s occurrence, Yorkshire Ambulance Service dispatched several response vehicles to the scene. Meanwhile, students from Horsforth School had gathered close to the area. Some were shaken and upset; others were in tears.
St Margaret’s Primary School’s pupils were kept indoors at the end of the day, and parents came to collect them. BBC Yorkshire shared images of several police vans at the scene. Neither the authorities nor the victim’s family have disclosed any information about the possible motive for the incident.
