A man who worked as a delivery driver for FedEx is standing trial accused of murdering his boss. Roland Sekanjako, 49, allegedly stabbed Philip Woodcock, 60, to death last November. Sheffield Crown Court heard that Sekanjako had previously come to work armed with two knives and a hammer and had demanded money from Woodcock, claiming he was owed wages.
According to prosecutor Katherine Goddard, Sekanjako insisted he had not been paid and claimed he was being racially discriminated against, but company records showed that his past payments had been made on time. The morning of the attack, Sekanjako arrived at the depot and entered the open-plan office, where he began to demand the money again. After a confrontation with colleagues, Woodcock intervened and invited Sekanjako into his office to try to resolve the situation.
