Patrick Grimley: Five people remain in hospital after fatal Markethill crash

A fatal four-car collision in County Armagh killed a father-of-three and left five people in hospital. The crash occurred on Gosford Road near Markethill on Saturday morning. The victim, Patrick Grimley, was returning from his 40th birthday celebration before he died at the scene. Grimley served as the Madden Raparees GAA club’s secretary and previously worked as its public relations officer. The club described his passing as “a huge loss,” and the chairman stated that the club lost a “solid volunteer” and friend.

Police initially transported nine individuals to hospitals, and five remain hospitalized. Tributes to Grimley poured in following his death. The Madden Raparees GAA club described him as a fantastic family man, while Armagh GAA stated that he was an esteemed TV commentator. Armagh GAA’s chairman, Paul McArdle, stated that the GAA community mourned for Grimley and his family.

The Gosford Road was closed for several hours following the collision. The police requested that anyone with information or video footage of the incident contact them. Mourinho, who coaches a local soccer team, stated that the community does not deserve such a tragedy. He also expressed condolences to Grimley’s family and friends.
