Center Parcs Woburn Forest: Teen dies after skateboard fall

A teenager has died after an accident on a skateboard at a Center Parcs holiday resort. Paramedics were called to the Woburn Forest site, located in Bedfordshire in October. The 14-year-old was taken to a local hospital, but sadly passed away. The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS) said they received the call at 3:54 pm. They sent an ambulance and an air ambulance response car. The teenager was transported by road to Bedford Hospital’s South Wing.

A spokesperson for the holiday resort said, “This is a distressing time, and our thoughts are with their family and friends.” The company is also supporting colleagues who responded with the emergency services. The EEAS also confirmed the incident, stating that it had sent an ambulance and air ambulance to the scene. It is uncertain how the incident happened, but the police are not treating it as a criminal case.

It is the second fatality reported at Center Parcs in the past month. In September, a female member of staff died following a collision at the resort. Center Parcs is a provider of premium holiday resorts and operates six locations across the UK. The company has stated that it has robust safety measures in place at all its holiday sites.

The death of the teenager is a tragedy, and our thoughts are with their family and friends during this difficult time. Holiday resorts are meant to be spaces of joy and relaxation, and any accident that results in a fatality is heartbreaking. The company’s commitment to safety and wellbeing is commendable, and it is essential to have robust procedures in place to ensure the safety of all guests and staff at all times
