Following the devastation left by the Hamas attack on the Supernova Festival in Israel on October 7th, over 50 original tracks have been released to raise money for survivors and families of the victims. The fundraiser compilation, titled ‘#BringThemBack’, included 73 tracks in total, gifted by Israeli producers. The compilation featured over 35 tracks on each side including those by Astrix, Vini Vici, Kino Todo, and Red Axes; and ranged from trance to EDM and techno.
The Electronic Music Community (EMC), in combination with the Tel Aviv Foundation, is behind the project. The proceeds from the project will go towards families of those affected by the tragedy, with emphasis on providing critical aid towards mental health care for the survivors of the festival and the families of the deceased.
The organisers of the festival Tribe of Nova provided a statement after the attack, offering their condolences to those affected. The event was attended by 3,500 people in southern Israel when a fiery attack began. Shots were reported to have begun at 6:30 AM when a flurry of rockets was followed by the gunmen arriving thirty minutes later. The attack resulted in the recovery of 260 bodies from the festival site, with some attendees believed to have been taken hostage.
The non-profit Nova Movement will be the recipient of the donation funds raised from the ‘#BringThemBack’ compilation. Their focus is on aiding victims by providing psychological therapy and professional support. Profits will also be used to offer financial support to victims, their families, festival employees, suppliers, security guards, and staff. Nova Movement also hopes to establish a treatment centre including accommodations for those in need.
