A second warning will then come into effect at 4 pm GMT on Monday, lasting for 23 hours until 3 pm GMT on Tuesday. An additional alert is also in place from 6 pm on Tuesday until 9 am on Wednesday. Storm Ciarán is also expected to bring some disruption to southern and eastern areas of the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday, according to Met Éireann. The storm marks the second named storm of the season after Storm Agnes brought heavy rain and strong winds to the island of Ireland last month. In the Republic, County Wexford was one of the worst-affected areas, with up to 35mm of rain falling from late Saturday evening
