A new platform and club series has just launched in Newcastle, called SKIN. The first installment of club nights, named ‘SKIN001 Opening Connection’ features an exciting line-up, including Eris Drew, OK Williams, GiGi FM, Lukas Wigflex, D.Dan, and a special TBA event, all headlining on club events between November and March. The events also look to celebrate local Northern talent, with Westy, Bunney, Luke Daniels, and Janay as residents.
SKIN aims to build a sanctuary of self-expression through music and creativity, and aspires to be diverse and inclusive to all. Each season will explore contrasting cultures and area developments across cities across the North East through live events, visual art, and community engagement, for which a new visual artist-in-residence will be invited to produce a piece of art to associate the season with a new identity.
SKIN001 is led by Alfie Allen and Max Marshall, drawing inspiration from the symbolism and social architecture of the North East from the 20th century, combined with classic rave memorabilia. Culture is rooted in people, and the vision for SKIN is to evoke some kind of subliminal flashback to all of the social history that inspired it.
Tickets for ‘SKIN001 Opening Connection,’ and further information about each date, can be found at the SKIN website. SKIN provides a platform for unity and inclusivity while contributing to the flourishing DIY clubbing scene of Newcastle with a unique identity
