Borussia Dortmund team bus gets parking fine in Tynemouth

Following Borussia Dortmund’s win over Newcastle United in the Champions League game at St James’ Park, the team’s bus was handed a £50 fine for parking on Grand Parade in Tynemouth. The North Tyneside Council confirmed the incident, adding that the fine would be reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days. In response, the Council jokingly suggested that the team collect the fine on their next visit to the area.

Civil enforcement officers are required to issue parking tickets when vehicles are parked in contravention with the restrictions in place. However, the council hopes that the fine and the weather did not ruin the team’s trip to the coastline. Newcastle United is currently playing in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years and is scheduled to travel to the German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund next month.

Eddie Howe’s side’s first Group F game was against AC Milan in Italy, where they drew 0-0, and then, they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 at St James’ Park. The team’s defeat over Newcastle United at St James’ Park was a crucial one after the 1-0 win secured Borussia Dortmund a place in the second round of the UEFA Champions League.
