Yosef Guedalia, a 22-year-old British-Israeli soldier, was killed by Hamas during an attack on 7 October. He was part of an anti-terror unit that confronted Hamas gunmen at Kibbutz Kfar Aza in Israel. Yosef’s brother, Asher, said he helped evacuate injured civilians before returning to fight Hamas and even saved people a few minutes before he was shot. Yosef’s mother was born in Manchester, and he was about to celebrate his first wedding anniversary.

Grandfather Isidore Zuckerbrod revealed that Yosef returned to the kibbutz four times to rescue hostages. On his fourth journey, his armoured vehicle was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, and he was shot as he fled. Israeli soldiers shot the men who were dragging his body away to use him as a “dead hostage.” They later retrieved his body.
