Family of missing UK teen say she was murdered in Hamas attack

Reports emerge that Noiya Sharabi, a missing British teenager, has been murdered by Hamas militants in the recent attack in southern Israel. The Hamas attack had claimed the lives of 16-year-old Noiya’s younger sister and mother, a British national. Family sources confirmed that Noiya’s death has now been officially acknowledged.

Fondly remembering Noiya, her family told the BBC that she was a brilliant student, a gifted linguist, and an empathetic person with a smile that illuminated the room. Noiya’s younger sister Yahel’s death was confirmed last week. Describing Yahel as an enthusiastic and lively young girl, the family said she enjoyed playing football, bike riding, and Tik Tok apps with her sister, Noiya.

The attack took place in Kibbutz Be’eri a month ago, and Noiya and Yahel had gone missing since. Their father, Eli, also remains unaccounted for while their other relatives have been kidnapped. Lianne, their British mother, had relocated to Israel after volunteering on the Be’eri kibbutz when she was 19. Lianne’s family members often visited the family in Israel.

The Be’eri community was thrown into chaos when Hamas militants began targeting southern Israel with rockets. Lianne had shared frantic WhatsApp messages with family members when she heard gunshots and Arabic yelling. Being close to the Gaza barrier, she had grown accustomed to security concerns but felt that this attack was perhaps going to be different.
