Legendary techno artist and former member of the Underground Resistance collective, DJ Rolando, has announced that he is selling part of his record collection. Posting on his Instagram account, the artist stated: “Selling off some of my collection. DM if interested,” alongside images of numerous white label records and test pressings. DJ Rolando is best known for producing the classic track ‘Knights of Jaguar’, inspired by a Jeff Mills set in Detroit.

The artist began his career DJing hip hop, electro and Latin freestyle, before becoming familiar with house and techno raves during the early 90s. In 1994 he joined the Underground Resistance collective, following encouragement from Mad Mike, and soon began producing his own music as the Aztec Mystic.

‘Knights of Jaguar’ was released on Underground Resistance in 1999 and became an instant classic, even catching the attention of Jeff Mills himself. The track is widely celebrated, with Mixmag readers voting it the 26th best dance track of all time in a 2014 online poll. However, the song also became the subject of a copyright battle between Underground Resistance and Sony Germany in 1994, after Sony produced a copycat version of the track under the title ‘Jaguar’.

Five years after the release of ‘Knights of Jaguar’, DJ Rolando left the Underground Resistance collective and moved to Edinburgh where he continued his career as a highly respected DJ. Fans of the artist now have the opportunity to purchase a piece of history by buying records from his personal collection. Interested buyers should contact DJ Rolando directly through his Instagram or Facebook profiles
