This year’s Bradford Music Month will be showcasing the genres bassline and bhangra, along with various wellbeing workshops and a sober rave. The event, which will take place in November, will be held in different locations across the city to display its diverse music scenes. The Daytimers movement, which originated from South Asian teens who needed a safe space to party, will be celebrated at The Mill on November 18 for its bhangra and bassline daytime rave.
The safe space and sober rave will be perfect for families to attend with performances from Deejay AJ, Jae Depz, Spice Nights and more. Other events include public opera performances, soul and R&B events and garden parties with workshops and music. This month-long celebration is led by musician Sinead Campbell, QM Records founder Ned Archibong, and events manager Gail Simpkins. It is run by a team of musicians, venue managers, and record labels with support from Bradford Council, Bradford Producing Hub, and Arts Council England.
Campbell says, “Music Month shines a light on the diverse gigs and workshops happening around the district.” She added, “We also program our unique events that bring something a little different to Bradford such as sober raves that bring together Bhangra and Bassline, a Bradford Opera, and the Garden of Eden which brings together intimate gigs and a program of wellbeing music workshops.” Bradford Music Month was launched last year as part of its 2025 UK City of Culture initiative with hopes the month will continue beyond 2025.
