Noa Beer, a woman who was present at the Hamas attack on an Israeli festival, has revealed the pure terror of coming face to face with a gunman during the attack. Beer’s recollection of the horrific event revealed how militants had stormed the Supernova festival and opened fire suddenly, leading to a stampede of people trying to escape. Beer was with a DJ when the attack occurred and somehow managed to avoid the gunfire and escape. The two drove for a few minutes before coming across gunmen at a roadblock.
The militants surrounded their car and began shooting frantically at them, leading Beer to remember how they just kept shooting at them like crazy. They managed to help three injured people to escape but have lost many other friends. Beer believes it is important to remember that these were people of love and peace who had no way to defend themselves against the militants and simply came to party and be happy.
Rescue agency Zaka and Israeli officials have reported that more than 260 bodies have been recovered from the festival site. Beer revealed that she initially did not think she would survive the attack because of how sudden and vicious it was. She was a combat soldier in the army, and her instincts kicked in to save herself and the people she was with. Many other people who came to enjoy the party were not so lucky.
Beer has urged the world to remember that there were people who died while just trying to have fun. They had no weapons and came simply to enjoy life and dance. The experience of coming so close to death has left Beer with a profound sense of gratitude for life and an overwhelming need to care for others. She believes that the world needs to remember the tragedy that occurred and keep working towards a safer and more peaceful future.
