Hamas militants attacked a psytrance festival in southern Israel on October 7, killing at least 260 people with many still missing and some reportedly taken as hostages, according to Israeli rescue agency, Zaka. Supernova, Israeli edition of the Brazilian Universo Parallelo festival, was being attended by around 3,500 people to celebrate the Jewish harvest festival and holiday of Sukkot when the attack began. The festival was held in the Negev desert, three miles from the Gaza-Israel barrier. The attackers arrived in vehicles and opened fire on the attendees.
The festival was presented by Tribe of Nova and had three stages and local and international psytrance DJs on the line-up including Man With No Name, Martin Freeland AKA, as well as other international artists from countries including France, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy and India.
