Singer-songwriter Grimes has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk over parental rights to their shared children in a California court. The petition filed by Grimes requests her access to see their three children after an online photograph surfaced of Elon and Shivon Zilis with the two children he shares with her. The petition also requests custody or child support and looks to identify a child’s legal parents when they are unmarried. As of yet, Musk has not responded to the filing.
The two children who were born in 2021 with Zilis are two of Musk’s ten known children. This includes five he had with his former wife Justine Musk and three with Grimes. X Æ A-Xii was Grimes and Musk’s first child, born in 2020, before Exa Dark Sidræl, aka Y, was secretly introduced in 2021 via surrogate. Their third child, named Techno Mechanicus, was revealed last month via Musk’s biography, written by author Walter Isaacson.
Grimes wrote in a since-deleted tweet calling upon both Shivon and Elon to let her see her son or respond to her lawyer. She claimed that she had never even seen a photo of the children until now, despite the situation ripping her family apart.
Reporting by TMZ stated that the filing by Grimes was a “petition to establish parental relationship” while the report by Page Six notes that the petition is not currently visible to the public
