​Uganda’s Nyege Nyege Festival unveils line-up for eighth edition

The eighth edition of Uganda’s largest electronic dance music festival, Nyege Nyege, is set to take place from November 9 to 12 in Jinja, Eastern Uganda. The festival’s lineup for this year includes electronic artists such as Tash LC, Menzi, De Schuurman, Sarra Wild, and DJ Marcelle. Headliners include Mejja and Trio Mio. Nyege Nyege continues to focus on African dance music while also showcasing new sub-genres of electronic music. The festival’s lineup includes artists from Tanzania, South Africa, Malawi, Ghana, Algeria, South Sudan, Mauritius, Saint Lucia, and more.

Among those showcased this year on the festival’s main stage are Ugandan acts EddyKenzo, Apass, Janzi Band, and Karole Kasita. The festival also celebrates sub-genres such Swahili trap (SHRAP) from the likes of Boutross.

The event, located at the source of the River Nile, also provides an unparalleled opportunity to explore and discover the diverse beauty of the massive African nation. The Nyege Nyege festival has come to symbolize modern Uganda at its best: a showcase of progress and creativity as well as the country’s role as a host of world-class events.
